International Pottery History.
International pottery history contains information on the beginning stages of civilizations. Very early on basic human needs were met by the crude creation of pottery used for cooking, eating and storing water. Much can be learned about international pottery history from the study of its early pottery. Many pottery shards from archeological sites, or clay objects preserved in museums, speak clearly of humankind. They help to tell stories about past civilizations and a nation's historical development. The history of ceramics shows that the main techniques and processes haven't changed much, and that creative design continues to move forward. The websites I selected here are some of the best on the history of International Pottery. A time line illustrating styles of pottery as they were being developed is included. They outline the distinctive types of ware, the decorating techniques and major traditions. Some of the websites have reference e books that can be downloaded, which gives a lot more information on the history of different styles and types of pottery. Check them out.
